JOB DESCRIPTION – SALES ENGINEER
The Sales Engineer is selected by the General Manager, Human Resources Specialist and Customer Relationship Manager. This position reports directly to the General Manager. An ideal candidate will have experience working in an industrial environment with an emphasis in one or more of the core areas (Industrial Painting (Powder or Liquid), Abrasive Blast Finishing or Mechanical Finishing) and good customer service skills.
AUTHORITY
The Sales Engineer has the authority to quote jobs for customers and potential customers.
RESPONSIBILITY
The Sales Engineer is responsible for meeting the sales goals established for the company AND is responsible for keeping the General Manager informed through weekly and monthly reports and meetings.
TYPICAL WORKING CONDITIONS
The typical working conditions will include a normal office environment and various industrial sites, including the KVF-Quad job shop and automobile travel as required. Conditions include exposure to industrial equipment, chemicals, and loud noises.
TYPICAL PHYSICAL DEMANDS
Requires the ability to deal with stress and pressure. Requires the ability to multi-task. Requires the ability to commute between various businesses and meeting obligations. Requires manual/finger dexterity and eye-hand coordination. Ability to lift samples and products up to forty pounds. Requires corrected vision and hearing to normal range.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, & ABILITIES
Knowledge of current market trends and sales methodology. Up-to-date knowledge of metal finishing, powder coat painting, abrasive and mechanical finishing machinery, products, and processes. Ability to analyze customer needs and develop proposals to be presented to customers. Ability to present ideas effectively both verbally and in writing. Ability to deal constructively with conflict. Skills in human relations and communication. Ability to set goals and self-motivate to meet those goals. Ability to use time efficiently and effectively.
